Research governance
Research governance and independence
FirmRanker may study law firms that are also Practice Proof clients, former clients or prospects. Governance exists so that those relationships never determine research outcomes.
Commercial relationships
FirmRanker research outcomes are not determined by commercial relationships.
- Practice Proof clients receive no preferential treatment in research results.
- Former clients receive no preferential treatment.
- Payment does not alter AI observations.
- Commercial relationships are disclosed where materially relevant to interpretation.
- Inclusion and exclusion criteria follow study design.
Raw data
Original AI responses are preserved and are not edited to produce a preferred result. Corrections apply to analytical layers.
Sponsorship
FirmRanker does not currently accept research sponsorship. If it does in future, sponsorship must not determine outcomes, alter raw observations, suppress findings, or change study methodology after results are known.
Corrections
Every significant published correction includes its date, what changed, why, and the effect on conclusions.
- Factual corrections — Errors of fact in published material.
- Entity corrections — Changes to how firms are resolved.
- Methodology corrections — Changes to rules or their application.
- Analysis corrections — Changes to calculated results.
- Material updates — New information that changes interpretation.
